Sunday Morning Coffee & New Pics of Cletus

We had a lovely early morning on the back deck at our round glass top table.  I love this kind of Sunday morning.  We were up and out while the sun was still hidden behind the trees in the neighbor's yard.  The bird feeding stations are busy this time of morning, and a swallow chased one of our cats up the back steps.

My hubby ground fresh Hazelnut coffee and retrieved the Sunday Omaha World Herald from our mailbox.  We must have spent an hour reading.  While he did the puzzle in the paper, I made fairy dust pendents (with the help of Guinivere).  I made some to put up at our magickal shop, but I made some for my girls too.  I'm messy when I do things like this, and the table was awash with sparkling glitter.

Our little Resident Elf (shown below) feels that she has gotten too big to hold that title anymore and she's trying to think of a new name for herself.  When she finally decides on a name, she wants me to announce it here.  The Elf is having quite a time trying to think of something and suggestions would be welcome.

I'm sure she'd love to see what kinds of names people would come up with.

I decided to take the kids into Omaha yesterday and drop by the Henery Doorly Zoo to pick up some pamphlets and information.  We have family members coming for a visit next month and this is going to be one of our excursions.

Since I am not a sports person, I completely forgot that there are baseball games going on at Rosenblatt Stadium, right across the street from the zoo!  It seemed like there were a million people there.  We never did get in to the zoo parking lot-- it was closed-- and by the time I got finished juggling with the traffic, we just wanted to get out of the area!  I told my hubby it was a good driving experience (he would have been proud of me)-- we came home unscathed, all bumpers intact and unscratched.

Right now, the girls are waiting for me to cut up a watermelon-- they've been asking for the past half hour I've been sitting here...Guinivere just said, "I'll bet I could eat a whole watermelon."

    They're making me hungry.

Cletus is growing like a weed!  I'm debating whether Cletus is going to be a rooster or not. If not, this chicken is still Cletus!  It will just be Miss Cletus.  I told the girls that when it grows up and has to be a real chicken, leading a real chicken's life (outdoors), the poor thing will probably be in a state of shock.  It has a "favorite blanket", it will eat off your plate-- and get very persistent about sharing!, it won't go to sleep until the girls go to bed-- and it goes with them.  I tell you, I honestly don't think this bird knows it's a chicken!
